We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a specialized behavioral health hospital in the Richmond, Virginia area. This role offers a collaborative, physician-supported environment with manageable patient volumes, allowing you to focus on high-quality inpatient psychiatric care while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

• Employment Type: Full-Time employed (Independent Contractor option available)* Schedule / Hours: 40 hours per week* Call: 1:4 weekends* Patient Volume: 15-18 patients per day* Location: Petersburg, VA (Richmond metro area)* Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital (Acute, Partial Hospitalization and Residential treatment)* Support / Care Team: Psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, and case managers

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult and adolescent behavioral health patients* Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary care teams* Perform psychiatric evaluations, and ongoing assessments* Conduct medication management and med-checks* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed* Communicate with families regarding care and treatment updates* Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention* Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and physician orders.* Participate in utilization reviews and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program* Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) (ANCC)* Active or eligible Virginia NP/APRN license* Current DEA certification
