Career Center

The Recreational Therapy Aide works with the Recreation Therapy Department to conduct programs and activities which are diversified and appropriate to the interests, physical and mental capabilities of all residents. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in the program planning and care planning processes. 
• Completes all necessary recording. 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years experience working with the elderly in a health care setting is preferred. Therapeutic recreation experience preferred. Must have a valid New York State Driver's License. Demonstrated skills in one of the following areas: music (voice or instrumental), arts & crafts, movement/exercise, painting or ceramics. 

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
