Down East Orthopedics is seeking a fellowship-trained Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician to join our well-established and highly respected orthopedic team in Bangor. Our practice serves patients throughout Central, Northern, and Eastern Maine and is recognized as one of the leading orthopedic groups in the Northeast.
This is an outstanding opportunity to build a robust non-operative sports medicine practice within a collaborative orthopedic environment that includes sports medicine surgeons, hand and upper extremity surgeons, adult reconstructive surgeons, and practice owned advanced imaging.

Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions
Provide comprehensive non-operative sports medicine care
Perform ultrasound-guided procedures and injections
Manage concussion evaluation and return-to-play protocols
Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons
Participate in sideline and event coverage as needed
Develop relationships with athletic trainers, schools, and community organizations
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Completion of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or PM&R residency
Fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine required
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sports Medicine
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine
About the Practice
Down East Orthopedics performs more than 3,800 inpatient and outpatient orthopedic procedures annually and offers comprehensive orthopedic subspecialty care, including sports medicine, joint replacement, and hand and wrist care.
The sports medicine team currently provides care and coverage for the University of Maine Black Bears, Husson University athletics, and multiple local high schools.
